Unsigned early-access builds. Every listed Version 0.4.2 archive has passed packaged launch, local preview, metadata and export checks on its named Intel Mac, Apple Silicon or Windows x64 platform. It has not been signed by Apple or a Windows publisher, so your computer may ask you to approve it before opening. Google Chrome is required for the companion interface.

Give it the frames you would actually shoot

Try the action sequence, the tricky depth of field, the frame with the subject behind someone else. Compare the focus calls with your own edit, search the tags, and try a Perfect Shot shortlist. Your 100 free credits cover 100 Standard reviews or 50 Turbo reviews. Perfect Shot is available for 14 days.

  1. Install Google Chrome, then download the build for your Mac or Windows PC. Launch Image Chimp; it opens its local interface in Chrome.
  2. Sign in and connect your account. The companion shows a short code. Check that it matches the one on your account page before approving the connection. Use the email address linked to your Image Chimp credits.
  3. Add a photo folder and start a review. Begin with familiar photos, choose Standard or Turbo, and check the photo count and credit total before starting.
  4. Check the results and add your context. Correct a focus call, rewrite a description, or add names and event details that only you would know. The catalog lives on your computer.
  5. Export or organize when you're ready. Copy a set of selects, write sidecars for your editor, or save a complete CSV or JSONL listing. Copy, Move and Trash each show a file-by-file plan before you confirm. Start with Copy.

Opening an unsigned build

Download only from this page and match the downloaded ZIP's SHA-256 under File verification before extracting it.

Mac: Unzip the download, move Image Chimp to Applications, then Control-click the app and choose Open. If macOS blocks it, open System Settings > Privacy & Security and use Open Anyway for Image Chimp after matching the checksum.

Windows: After the ZIP matches, extract it completely before opening Image Chimp.exe. If Microsoft Defender SmartScreen appears and offers More info and Run anyway, review the app name shown in the prompt before continuing. Keep Gatekeeper, SmartScreen and antivirus protection enabled.

What stays on your computer

Your originals, working previews, local database, descriptions, keywords and exports. The companion sends prepared image details for analysis and saves the returned result locally. Our servers keep account and credit records, not a hosted photo catalog.

Internet access is needed for new reviews. Prepared images can still show people, places and visible text. Google's normal processing retention applies. Read the privacy details.

Bring your existing sidecars

Chimp can preserve ratings and unrelated fields from XMP sidecars it can read. Capture One and Lightroom behavior can vary by version and catalog settings, so export to a separate folder and check a few copied files first. If a color label, description or keyword lands differently than expected, send us what happened; early-access feedback will guide the compatibility work. Read the Capture One guide.
